I’ve used a half frame camera for exactly two shots haha, but they seem like a lot of fun!
I make my pairs long after I’ve shot the images. I guess I look at it as an opportunity to find the connections I can make between all the images - it ends up being a way of understanding the broader scope of what I was thinking during the time I was shooting them.
I’ll post a video in a few days showing exactly how I make pairs if you’re keen!
Yeah, shooting half frame isn't for everyone, but it's definitely changed how I look at a subject. It forces me to literally observe a subject from more than one perspective and it's stretched my story telling capabilities for sure.
Great advice, Chris! Thank you for sharing your insight!
Thank you Susanne! Really glad you enjoyed it~
Thanks for sharing your process in finding a set of images that will speak to each other in a diptych presentation. I found it quite interesting!
Really happy to hear that! Thank you for letting me know~
I've been hooked on diptychs ever since I picked up a half frame camera. Do you pick your pairs on the spot, or do you pick them in post?

For sure man! That sounds good!

Sounds like a great encouragement to be thoughtful about what you shoot and how you shoot it. All for that!
