It’s funny how your posts hit me right when I’m thinking about similar things. Definitely where I’m located, it’s been a bit lonely in terms of wanting to engage in person with more photographers more often. Starting a local club has been on my to do list for a while now, but it’s challenging to find photographers in my area that I think will have enough in common to create a compelling meet up. That’s the challenge but I think your approach adds what’s needed to create that commonality with it being project based. It’s kinda perfect. I will be borrowing this idea, haha. Thanks dude, as usual, great post.
Glad to hear it connected! I hope what I wrote here helps if you do decide to start one. Please feel free to drop me a message if you get a club going - I’m figuring it out myself but would be happy to assist a bit if I can.
I'm part of a photo club here and I find photography clubs such an odd thing: yes, we're people brought together by a hobby, but there's also so much diversity, so many skill levels and intentions and niches! The one thing that is a bit of an issue though is that photography is a pretty lonely hobby, so it's a bit difficult to do it with others, but I guess it's more about intention and companionship than it is about actually practicing photography together. In any case, props to you for making that happen, and you guys should meet more often!
Seems to me Chris, you are a fine leader of a great pack...you are going far already chum...well done, and thanks for your inspiring story...keep up the great idea....regards Keith..

Cheers Adrien! Yeah, I’m hoping this will provide people with a space to connect after the shooting is done. A lot of people prefer shooting alone!
We’ll tweak the club as it goes, and figure out what works best together:-)
