I bet you have 4x6s everywhere in your house 😁 but yeah, need to start doing that too 😉

I like your thinking and have had the same idea myself without quite following through on it. Seems to me there should be commercial value in it - people have always liked buying postcards, after all. What do you think about using online printing services? 6x4s can usually be had pretty cheaply…

Hi Robert~ It’s good to find a commercial application for prints, but I don’t put too much pressure on myself to be able to sell everything I make. I just wouldn’t make as much otherwise, and I think that would slow my learning.

I use online printing services fairly often, and recommend them! I make postcards with them so that I can print lines for text and a box for the stamp on the back of the image. And you’re right, it’s pretty cheap!

Thanks for the reply. I'm not familiar with Blu Tack. Is it just a sticky substance you apply to something?

Exactly, it’s like a soft sticky clay. It should be at a stationery store, but might have a different name!

Thanks to your wonderful video. I’m very inspired! This is something I need to do. Thank you.

Can you tell me how you perfectly placed all those pictures on your wall? The spacing looks exact and not one is tilted? Wow.

Also, are the photos just taped to a white painted wall?

Thank you from one of your new YT subscribers

Thank you Shon, glad you enjoyed it. I simply lined up the prints by eye, I’m sure they’re a little out of line on closer inspection. I used Blu Tack to put them up. It works great for short times, but can mark the prints if you leave them up for too long!

I love small prints. I find that they most replicate the feeling of seeing images in a book, which is my favourite way to engage with photos. Something about the way small images force you to get closer...

Absolutely. A small, nicely framed print is magic.

Great idea ( printing 4 x6 ). I mentioned it to extended family at an event - " we'd " like to try it. Any recommendations for printers?

Great! Sure, I have some recommendations~ The cheapest, but still fun to use is the Canon Selphy. It doesn’t make quality prints you can sell, and the colours might be a touch off, but as a dedicated 4x6 printer it works great.

Midrange is the Canon ip8770 (might have a similar but different number in your territory.) It can print much bigger than 4x6, but is pretty cheap to use when printing small. The ink cost is reasonable and the print quality is solid. I’d recommend this one.

If you’re dipping a toe in printing, I’d stop here. If you want to really get into it, the Canon Pro 500 (it might be 1000 in your territory) is a beast. It makes beautiful prints but ink is pricey and you’ll want to use it regularly so the ink doesn’t dry out and get wasted.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Appreciate all the above. The Selphy is available in Canada ( Amazon ). I'll pick one up in the Prime Days ahead.
