Kudos to you! Being aware of stepping into the comfort zone and doing it any way. They look comfortable with it, though. For me as a viewer they are almost too close! 🙈 But these are great portraits, Chris!
Thanks Susanne~ I didn't spend too long with this style of portrait but use it occasionally when it's appropriate. The lessons I learned talking to people about photography were worth the project!
One of my favorites is the man in front of the orange wall. I asked him for a portrait and he said no and started walking away. The wall itself was interesting with some handwritten graffiti on it so I started photographing that instead. He watched, came back over and started asking about what I was doing. That's when I talked him into standing for me.
Yeah, that one is fantastic. He has such an intimidating presence. I feel a little intimidated just looking at the portrait.
I also really love the one with the soap. It fits perfectly with the rest of the series, but then it has this small twist that brings up so many questions.
The guy with the brown hat leaps out at me. Surreal!
Every time I scroll through the set there's something about that portrait that stands out. Always loved his military pin on that hat.

Cheers man! Yes that's the one. Chatting to these guys was great practice for my Korean exams.

Thank you Lachezar, I'm happy to hear that.
